🍪Ahavat Ava’s “From the Heart” Cookies

Prep 15 min Cook 10–12 min

These are the cookies I never measure. I never write down. I just feel them. But now I had to add measurements for all of you guys… because I love you too much 🤍 They’re soft, warm, a little gooey in the center — and somehow always come out perfect. My husband’s favorite cookies ever ever ever. Made the way all the best things are… from the heart 🤍 Naturally gluten-free, dairy-free, and refined sugar–free ✨

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup coconut sugar
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1/3 cup melted coconut oil
  • 1 large egg (or 2 for softer, more cake-like cookies)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp sea salt
  • 1 1/2 cups almond flour
  • 1/2–3/4 cup chocolate chips (measure with your heart 🤎)

Instructions

  1. 1

Preheat your oven — 350°F and line a baking sheet.

  2. 2

Mix the wet ingredients — Whisk together coconut sugar, maple syrup, melted coconut oil, egg, and vanilla until smooth and glossy.

  3. 3

Add the dry — Mix in baking soda, baking powder, and salt.

  4. 4

Add almond flour — Stir in almond flour until a soft dough forms. It should be scoopable, not runny.

  5. 5

Chocolate, always — Fold in chocolate chips.

  6. 6

Bake — Scoop onto your baking sheet and bake for 10–12 minutes, until the edges are set and the centers are soft.

  7. 7

Let them rest — They’ll firm up as they cool — this is where the magic happens.

Ava's Little Touches 🤍

  • Flaky salt on top takes them to another level
  • Slightly underbake for that soft, gooey center
  • Best eaten warm (non-negotiable)
  • 2 eggs = softer / 1 egg = chewier
  • If you really want to achieve the Ahavat Ava husband-famous cookies… don’t overthink it. Don’t obsess over perfect measurements. Just do it from the heart, like I always do 🤍
